Coming back later: everything you can get in Chapter 2 without beating it.
Editor's pick Coming back later in Chapter 2: Azure Dust makes you immune to Shock for as long as the transformation lasts, and the Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff (60 Attack) beats the Wind Bear Staff. The Bronze Monkey set stays at the heart of the plan; the Galeguard Beastmaw Armor (+4 Shock Resistance) can replace its chest piece, at the cost of the 4-piece bonus.

The fight
A single phase. He regularly falls to the ground, back exposed.
One set: Shock is there from start to finish.
Spells, transformation and soaks are set at a Keeper's Shrine, never mid-fight: what you bring into a fight stays until the end. Nothing reliable confirms that armor can be swapped mid-fight: a page only offers a per-phase variant when a shrine or a checkpoint separates the phases.
What it inflicts
- Shock: every attack inflicts it.
Attacks to watch
- Leap over you: heavy damage, and you get staggered.
- Fast critical claw and tail strikes.
- Explosion when he gets back up, and a lightning storm sweeping the floor.
What works
- Weak spot: the pots on his back; hit them while he is down, Pillar Stance helps. Pillar Stance
- Immobilize right after a knockdown. Immobilize
- Shock-Quelling Powder: removes Shock and briefly raises Shock Resistance. Shock-Quelling Powder
- Wandering Wight spirit. Wandering Wight
Strategy
- Knock him down, then hammer the pots on his back.
- Keep your distance and punish after his combos; back off when he gets up.
- Use the gaps in the floor lightning.
- An easier fight if you come back later in the game.
Access
Loong Claw Grove, behind a waterfall: from the Outside the Forest shrine, take the left path to the waterfall in the corner. With the Loong Scales in your inventory, interact with it to get in. Optional and hidden.
