The fight
Same character as the Black Wind King, in his true form: a separate fight, after a shrine. A single health bar, but 2 phases: at half health he turns into a fire orb and rushes at you several times, then returns to bear form with burning paws and sets the ground ablaze. No cutscene, no change of arena, and no documented checkpoint between the phases.
One set, built for the second phase: nothing lets you swap armor mid-fight, so Burn Resistance must be there from the start. Equip the Fireproof Mantle and activate it as the second phase begins.
Spells, transformation and soaks are set at a Keeper's Shrine, never mid-fight: what you bring into a fight stays until the end. Nothing reliable confirms that armor can be swapped mid-fight: a page only offers a per-phase variant when a shrine or a checkpoint separates the phases.
What it inflicts
- Burn in the second phase, from his flaming attacks and the burning ground. Dodge 4 or 5 times to put it out.
Attacks to watch
- Second phase, jump and smash attacks: up to 60% of your health in one hit, so stay near full health.
- Black wind charges, more dangerous than his regular strings.
- Fire pillars: stop attacking and move away.
What works
- Fireproof Mantle: Burn Resistance while equipped; when activated, Burn immunity and rising Focus. Keep the activation for the second phase. Fireproof Mantle
- Immobilize, then light attacks; in the second phase, keep your distance while it recharges. Immobilize
- Cloud Step to dodge his strikes or heal safely. Cloud Step
- Red Tides and the Guangmou spirit right away, or keep the transformation for the second phase. Red Tides, Guangmou
Strategy
- Phase 1: light attacks only, dodge sideways; he often strikes 3 times in a row, then opens up.
- Stay close: his swipes reach far. On his flank or behind him, he leaps into a suplex and leaves himself open.
- Dodge his charges when he flashes with a popping sound.
- Never drink near him: back off first.
Access
